Senior ruby developer

We are looking for a senior ruby developer to join our team. Applicants should be capable of writing clean and secure code, have passion for incremental improvement of code, be familiar with Agile project development technics, be extremely practical and seek for daily self development. Best candidate should have good self-management skills, keep control of time and overall project application logic.

Requirements to candidates:

1. Strong technical and web development background
2. Strong RoR skills, experience in Ruby on Rails (not required if candidate is already familiar with other ruby/python frameworks such as Django or Merb)
3. Experience with RDBMS, *nix operating systems
4. Experience with web technologies, especially HTML/CSS, Javascript. Experience in JQuery is a big plus.
5. Understanding of OOP principles, design patterns, development best practices
6. Understanding of different scalability techniques and caching mechanisms is a plus
7. Practical experience in test-driven development and agile projects is a plus
8. Technical English


About the projects:
Railsware is partnering with several key niche players (USA) and currently developing:
- Social networks
- E-commerce solutions
- Full-cycle management and B2C/B2B systems
- Large scale email marketing systems

Some of our projects require non-standard environments to run applications, advanced performance tweaking, understanding of HTTP protocol.
We're using TDD approach on many projects.

We are a US registered company with an office in Kiev, some of our team members work remotely. We use Macs for development purposes because we think that Apple products are very convenient. We use agile modern collaboration tools and apply SCRUM methodology on the projects.
