Daxx is a leading Dutch IT company (www.daxx.com.ua, www.daxx.com) that offers dedicated team IT services to international IT companies working with the latest technologies.

About the Project:

The project is an online strategic real time browser game. The game takes place in the nearby future where mankind has begun to colonize the Universe. In the beginning, every player has only access to a single starting planet. A player can give orders to habitants of his planet(s) and look to the results of his previous tasks a couple of times a day. Assignments can vary from building, transporting to attack, defense, sending messages and chatting, making alliances etc. The objective for a player is to extend his/her empire among the stars of the Universe.

Project is written on pure AS3, compiled with Flex SDK (all graphics is embedded .png, included from external .swc or drawn by code).

On the server side is used PHP+Zend+MySQL.

The Flash developer will be fully responsible for the client side.

The designer will provide static graphical images. It will be the responsibility of the Flash developer to use them and to create the client side of the game.

This will include:

* A map that can be scrolled and zoomed.
* Screens where certain objects of the game can be reviewed and managed
* Menus, buttons, various information on all screens
* Communication with the server application written in PHP
* The game will have no 3D animation, only minimum of 2D animation, no real-time battles.

Requirements:

* Good knowledge of ActionScript 3.
* Strong knowledge of OOP and event model.
* Ability to create nice-looking game interface based on static images provided by the designer.
* Good level of understanding of client-server communication issues, ability to propose optimal solutions for this communication and discuss them with other group members. Ability to implement and debug the ActionScript part of these solutions.
* Motivation to work in the game project for a long period (at least half-year) on a regular basis, without distractions. It will not be possible to work on other projects during the first 6 months of the project.
* High level of responsibility and discipline. Ability to observe the agreed work time and rules of work chosen by the project group.
