Job Objective:
The Sr. Systems Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies managed by the Information Technology department. This person will focus on the administration of the Network Infrastructure to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications. The Systems Administrator will assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the IT Systems operation and make recommendations for implementation. This person must have experience in providing support and infrastructure administration activities for the remote offices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications
• Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups
• Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of client/server software and service packs.
• Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement.
• Performs on-site and remote technical support
• Sets up and configures VMware virtualization software
• Sets up Active Directory domainssitesDNS
• Configures and supports terminal services
• Sets up performance monitors and evaluating logs to determine performance problems or recommending steps to remedy a situation
• Performs advanced hardware troubleshooting and replacement on server systems
• Performs monitoring & capacity planning
• Performs anti-virus and anti-spam management
• Leads Disaster Recovery efforts; utilizes industry standard technologies to insure the integrity of recoverability of servers; backups, patch installations, performance monitoring etc
• Supports applications including Internet email systems, public Internet and internal Intranet Web services and network management platforms on enterprise-wide system
• Maintains user accounts, mailing lists and related systems
• Implements, maintains, and supports network firewalls, audit log servers, and security systems.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Must be proficient in the following areas
• 10+ years experience as a hands on network/systems administrator
• 7+ years experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments, including failover techniques, recovery/rollback and systems availability.
• 5+ years experience engineering, designing and deploying virtualized infrastructures (VMware/vSphere).
• At least 5 years experience with key Microsoft Enterprise technologies, including Windows System Administration, Active Directory (Including Group policies, security policies, and domain policy automation skills), MS DPM, Exchange Server, SharePoint, SQL Server and IIS
• 5+ years of IP networking experience including strong technical knowledge of subjects such as DNS, LDAP, DHCP, routing, switching, remote access technologies and firewall configuration
• Minimum of 4 years experience with strong Microsoft and Linux administration background.
• 5+ years hands on administration with Microsoft Exchange implementations and management; experience with e-mail processing and filtering ( anti-virus/anti-spam)
• Strong understanding of domain architecture, scripting and using policies to manage the infrastructure
• Working understanding of network-attached storage, iSCSI
• Must have a strong understanding of IT Security and implementing and monitoring network security
• Basic Windows scripting skills.
• Experience setting up and managing database systems such as SQL Server.
• Functional knowledge of VoIP technologies.
• Advanced hardware & software troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to manage & support multiple projects
• Microsoft and Cisco certification strongly preferred
• Associate degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred.
